The Yellow Flower and the Distillery part III

(see previous blogs) We end with the trilogy while I'm looking at photo-paper materials at pikto.ca in thedistillerydistrict.com.
.

LL: Your other wrist has the yellow band, has your life been affected?
PT: It has, I mentioned it in my first blog – but my granny is battling the disease (cancer.ca) right now – so it’s a good reminder for shes lives in the uk. My friend that works here is also a cyclist and this summer we hope to do a ride for cancer.

My beautiful ladies, who are my main voters.. there have been no reports that wearing a bra might cause breast cancer. Support your local bra manufacturer. I’m surprised to read a stat that more Canadians who make under 20 grand give more than higher salaries. It is a staggering stat that 1 out of every 4 Canadians, will die from cancer.

The Canadian film ONE WEEK is coming out on March 6th so I encourage all my readers to go support Canadian film. You only have one week to live? What are you going to do with your time?
www.tiff08.ca/filmsandschedules/films/oneweek

LL: Any final thoughts on the contest?
PT: I have to say that I applaud Lavalife for donating 10 grand to the shelter to the storm Stopviolence.ca, It really gets my goat when guys rough up dames.. I’d beat those guys senseless in my kilt, but I’d be lowering myself to their level.
And Yes.. the popular blogs are fun to read but in the end, the only thing matters is the votes. The creative blogs don’t matter, only the votes!

LL: Good luck with the contest
PT: Cheers.

Lazy Sunday and The White Band

We continue the interview walking down Queen St West and pop into a local record shop.

LL: I noticed you’re wearing a poverty wrist band..
PT: Yes, I do support makepovertyhistory.ca. I’d like to donate bands to some of the 1 million Canadian children, or nearly one in six, are still poor. It even affects the future generation of e-dating because it will give them confidence with affordable housing, having a decent job, and higher minimum wage.

A quarter of a million Canadians have joined but maybe more need a reminder because we can’t have global and national benefit concerts all the time. It doesn’t have to be this way, and I’m urging my readers to vote or even take action! If we choose - if we have the will to act - we can make poverty history. The internet has become a great asset for Canada because of how spread out our population and it will force our politicians to listen.

PT: I’m also happy at the success of slumdog millionaire because Danny Boyle makes such visually and thought provoking films..

Maple Leaf Green

INT. LAVALIFE HQ – TORONTO.

I walk in and sit down and ready myself to be interviewed by the website click.lavalife.com.

LL: Welcome..
PT: Hello to all voters across Canada. Thank you for voting.

LL: What do you plan on doing with the grand prize?
PT: I was the first to blog that I will be donating a portion to cancer research and I haven’t stated a dollar value because I will dividing the winnings with my various charities/organizations.
I feel that winning a popularity contest for my genes and personality isn’t worth buying personal stuff so I’ve decided to give another portion to the World Wildlife Fund wwf.ca to help preserve our beautiful country.

There are many ambitious programs such as; protecting the polar bears from global warming, protecting key habitats, including critical forest and freshwater ecosystems. There is about 500 species that are dangerously close to extinction. I like how they try to find long term solutions that benefit people and nature.

LL: What other things have you done to help the environment?
PT: I contributed one of the million acts of green at green.cbc.ca and I encourage all my voters to do the same. A few examples are, I use a car sharing company and I don’t idle, I drink tap water instead of bottled, and I use reusable bags.

LL: How do you feel this affects your profession?
PT: I have the opportunity with the power of my medium to raise awareness with short webdocs. We live in a marvelous world. One where everything’s possible; nothing is inevitable; and we have to do our part. What’s the use of making products that last forever, if the subject matter keeps disappearing?

My grandmother is currently battling cancer and i've already lost 3 grandparents to the disease so i'd like make a portion of the winnings to Canadian Cancer Society and if you join this group and vote and I Win then I think the voters should get something out of it too.

I have also added my support to donate to the World Wildlife Canada wwf.ca and purchase makepovertyhistory.ca wrist bands.

Since its the people who will elect the victor. A portion of the prize will go to my cancer charity, the world wildlife fund, makepovertyhistory for these tough economic times and another portion of the winnings woud go to a prize you'll get to be entered into a draw for a couple of return plane tickets to somewhere very warm and beautiful.

Power to the People!

The 2008 Canadian Election only had a 58.8 % turnout so i'm hoping you come out in full force and let your voice be heard. (and yes your own chance for a prize)
